What Are My Choices?

Have you finished or are about to finish school?  Not sure what to do next?

Our aim in the following section is to provide you with some information and options for your transition into further study or employment – your new post-school life!

 

Planning a Career Pathway

Successful transition to further education or employment requires careful, long term planning and ideally should be considered in years 11 and 12:

• Career selection – are my career goals achievable?
• My current skills – do I need any further training?
• Identifying transition/career partners and establishing links with Support agencies.
• Work experience – will this assist me with my career planning?

Registering with your local Centrelink Career Adviser and connecting with a specialist Employment Service Provider will assist in unlocking the doorway for your next steps.

• Centrelink services are designed to assist with allowance applications, registering as a new job seeker and referring you to the appropriate Employment Service Provider.
• Employment Service Providers are specialist organisations who can assist you with employment preparation, job search activities and placement support.

There are a multitude of options available to you for continuing your post-school education.  Universities, TAFE and other training providers offer courses and qualifications, many with flexible study options.
